From Bend Bow to Shoot the Tiger

Step Forward, Deflect Downward, Parry and Punch

  1. Turn your waist to the right shifting 100% into the right foot as you allow your right elbow to relax down and your left fingertips to point to your right elbow. Simultaneously, allow your left heel to peel up from the earth.
  2. Pick up your left foot and place it down at a 45 degree angle.
  3. Shift 100% across to your left foot and turn your waist to the left as your fist falls into line with your left palm. Simultaneously, pivot on your right heel to bring the foot closer to your left leg.
  4. Take an empty step with your right foot with your heel across from your left instep.
  5. Shift 100% across into the right foot as your left arm rises so that your thumb is about ear height while your right elbow comes into position to knock on a door.
  6. Turn your waist to the right, allowing your fist to drop down to your right hip as you extend your left hand in front of you. Simultaneously, take an empty step forward with your left foot into a mountain stance.
  7. Shift 70% forward into your left foot and turn your waist bringing your fist forward as though your were handing a bunch of flowers. Simultaneously, allow your left hand to descend toward your left thigh.

Needle at Sea Bottom

  1. Turn your body to the left and shift 100% forward allowing your fist to extend forward and your right heel to peel up from the floor.
  2. Replace your right foot on the ground at 50 degrees.
  3. Shift back into your right foot allowing the waist to drift slightly to the right.  Simultaneously, allow the first two fingers of your left hand to float atop your right wrist, and your left foot to come back toward your right foot.
  4. Allow your right fingertips to lead you down toward the floor as you bend at the waist.

Fan Through the Back

  1. Bring your body upright and allow the hands to be draped at your belly.
  2. Turn your waist 45 degrees to the left as you take an empty step forward with your left foot into a mountain stance.  
  3. Shift 70% into the left foot as your waist turns toward the right corner.  Simultaneously send your left hand forward at shoulder height and allow your right hand to fan up to the right side of your head, palm out.

 

Turn and Strike with Backfist

  1. Shift back 100% into your right foot as you turn your waist toward the right and pivot your left foot in 90 degrees on the heel. Simultaneously, allow your elbows to drop and your hands to face away from you.
  2. Shift 100% into your left foot as you turn your waist toward the left and allow your right hand to make a fist as it circles down toward your left hip. Simultaneously, allow your left hand to fold in across from your chest.
  3. Turn your waist toward the right and replace your right heel next to your left instep at 45 degrees. Simultaneously allow your fist to circle up to chest height, backfist away from you.

White Snake Sticks Out Its Tongue

  1. Shift 100% into your right foot and turn your waist to the right as you take an empty step forward with your left foot into a mountain stance.  Simultaneously, allow you left hand to extend forward, palm down as your fist drops  to the right side of your abdomen. 
  2. Shift 70% into your left foot and turn your body toward the left, allowing your left hand to fold into your body as your right hand extends palm up directly away from you.  After your hands pass each other, your left hand should be palm down with fingertips pointing to your right elbow, while you right hand will be palm up in front of your right side.

Withdraw and Push

  1. Turn your body to the left allowing your right hand to extend forward as your left and drops under your elbow, palm up.
  2. Shift back 100% into your right foot opening up the right hand as it retracts above the left palm so both palms are now facing you.
  3. Replace your left foot underneath you at a 45 degree angle and take an empty step forward with your right foot into a mountain stance.  Allow your hands to separate as your feet change 
  4. Sink and turn both palms forward. Shift 70% forward and come into the push.

Crossing Hands

  1. Shift back 100% into your left foot.
  2. Turn your body toward the left and allow your left fingers to pass in front of your eyes as you pivot in on your right heel.
  3. Shift 100% into the right foot as both hands drop down to your sides and the left foot steps to shoulder width and parallel across from the right foot.
  4. Center the weight in both feet as both hands rise in front of you to throat height with the right hand on the outside.
